White Cane Support for the Ifite Blind Residence

This proposal is submitted to the Hope Givers Initiative to provide essential white canes, orientation and mobility training, and academic assistive tools for the Ifite Blind Residence.

The Ifite Blind Residence is a community of more than 130 visually impaired students, graduates, and vocational trainees affiliated with Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

What funding provides

  • White canes & orientation/mobility training
  • Digital recorders, On-the-Go keyboards, power banks & noise-cancelling headphones for students
  • Biannual need-finding surveys & in-person vetting

per semester · August & January cycles (≈₦7M)

Spinal cord injury support · Nationwide, Nigeria

Dubel Disability Foundation Partnership

A proposed funding framework for the Dubel Disability Foundation, founded by a spinal cord injury survivor, providing mobility equipment, medical intervention, and economic reintegration for spinal cord injury survivors across Nigeria.

What funding provides

  • Bedding: mattresses, water mattresses, pillows, sheets & blankets
  • Wheelchairs & mobility cushions
  • Daily medical & sanitary supplies: catheters, antiseptics & dressings

Funding goal

$6,750

to fully stabilize 3 individuals in need (≈₦9.3M)
